Win an IELTS on Track book!
After being invited recently to judge a short story competition for English students in a high school in southern France, lead IELTS on Track author, Stephen Slater, thought it might be an interesting idea to invite IELTS candidates to send in their stories...stories about their IELTS experiences.
Those of you who visit this site are often worrying about the IELTS test and the score you need to achieve. It's stressful, of course. So we are offering you a chance to take a little 'timeout'. We invite you to send us your 'IELTS stories'.
IELTS stories?
Many of you may have taken IELTS before or may have talked to other people who have already taken the test. We are sure that there are plenty of interesting IELTS stories 'out there' in the many countries in the world where the IELTS test is taken. They may be stories about something funny or unusual that happened to you before, during or after your IELTS test; or something you heard about. We'd like to hear them and to put the best ones on our website in our news page. It's your chance to
'open up' about your IELTS test experiences. Send your stories to us at: books@ieltsontrack.com
Note: Remember to write your name and your country under your story.
How long?
Your stories don't need to be long. Limit them to a maxiumum length of an IELTS Writing task 2, which means 250 words maximum. All writing in English is helpful to you and you may enjoy taking a little rest from intensive, test preparation.
Perfect English?
Your stories don't need to be in perfect English. If the grammar or vocabulary need a little 'tidying' we will do this for you, so in effect your stories will be corrected. The main thing is that you try to make your IELTS story interesting, amusing or maybe even shocking.
Who wins, and when?
We will accept all your IELTS stories from now until the end of 2011. The best ones will be put on our website, and, if your story appears on the website, we'll send you an IELTS on Track e-book free of charge (you can choose either the Academic or the General Training version).
The writer of the IELTS story that is judged the very BEST IELTS STORY OF 2011 will receive, an IELTS on Track book with 2 CDs(Academic or General), a winner's trophy, with their name engraved on it. Our IELTS on Track website will also donate $100 to an international charity of the winner's own choice.
So, why don't you take a little break from IELTS test practice and get writing your
IELTS stories. We look forward to receiving them.
Good luck!
