About IELTS on Track

Several years ago international textbook author, Stephen Slater, invited two colleagues—Donna Millen and Pat Tyrie, to plan and write an IELTS self-study textbook with him.

They decided that students needed a self-study book that gave them a combination of full IELTS test practice, general strategies for each part of the test, AND extra language activities and support in Writing and Speaking.

The IELTS on Track project was supported by the Centre for English Language in the University of South Australia, and by Language Australia Ltd, then the key national language organisation in Australia.

After many months of hard work the IELTS on Track Academic book (and its 2 CDs) was born! Eventually, the ‘twin' volume, IELTS on Track General Training, was published to complete the two-book series.

The series was offered internationally and was soon made available by several British Council and IDP centres across the world. IELTS on Track is also available in language bookshops in cities across Australia, India, the UK and many other countries.

The authors of IELTS on Track are delighted that their self-study books are being appreciated internationally. The IELTSonTrack.com website represents their wish to take these successful books to a larger audience, especially to IELTS candidates who don't live in large cities or near bookshops, or who have not yet heard of these books. The e-book versions of IELTS on Track offer a wide range of low-cost options for those test candidates with limited resources.

The authors are keen to show their gratitude for the modest success enjoyed by IELTS on Track by giving just a little back to environmental and humanitarian causes. That is why a small proportion of all sales from this website will go to nominated charities.

So, the IELTS on Track story is a simple but human one — a story of working teachers committed to international education, taking a risk, achieving something, and now wanting to give at least a little something back.
